Meeting the Needs-Profile of Circle Center Adult Day Services

Do we serve those we intend to serve? Here is a brief profile of needs met for those we served during our fiscal year 2008-2009:

Our participants (all participants were 53 years of age and older)

  • 100% were dependent in more than one ADL (bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, ambulation) or had cognitive/emotional limitations which affected judgment and safety
  • 100% were transportation dependent
  • 93% could not live alone
  • 39% of participants required medication while at the Center
  • 37%of our participants required physician-prescribed special diets
Our caregivers
  • 74% caregivers worked outside the home 
  • 100% the Center meets their needs for caregiving
  • 98% reported Circle Center helped them cope.
  • 95% use the Center’s support and educational resources
  • 96% the Center helps them maintain valued life roles such as worker, caregiver, volunteer and church member

Building Quality Measures

  • Center fire suppression system
  • Central alarm on all doors to prevent wandering
  • Annual inspections by State Fire Marshall
  • Center kitchen inspections quarterly by Richmond Department of Health to meet restaurant standards
