Kelly Lewis, Memory Lane Program Manager

Kelly Lewis joined our staff in October 2004 as Activity Coordinator for the East Wing, and started the bell choir and Circle Center's chapter of the Red Hat Society.  In May 2006 she transferred to become the new Memory Lane program manager so she could get closer to the participants and help individualize the program to meet the individual needs of the Memory Lane participants . Kelly is certified in Montessori-Based Dementia Programming, the first person in Virginia to achieve that certification. She started Café Rem, our lunchtime café in Memory Lane . Kelly also started the Center's Snoezelen program, which uses controlled multisensory stimulation for people with mental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, depression and anxiety.

Before joining the Center’s staff, Kelly was a residential care manager at an adult group home for adults with mental disabilities. She is certified in medication administration, CPR and first aid.

In her spare time Kelly enjoys performing, volunteering, being creative, attending festivals, and taking care of her unique pets. Her goal is to make every place she goes just a little brighter than when she first stepped into it.
